Fraser Riverview Holiday Apartment - Maple Ridge/British Columbia/Canada Your self-contained holiday apartment is located in a private home on a beautiful one acre garden, high above the mighty Fraser River. On a clear day you can see the eternal snow of Mount Baker in the distance. Watch the tug boats go by or listen to the cries of the Canada geese. The large, full, brand-new kitchen with lovely, natural Maple cabinets is well equipped and a series of cookbooks and Gourmet magazines invites you to try out new recipes. Enjoy a romantic dinner on the patio or at the edge of the garden, high above the river. French doors lead from the kitchen to the large livingroom, which features a comfortable sitting area with a Queen sofa-bed and a firm Queensize bed. A separate bedroom plus bath can be made available for up to 5 guests. Your holiday home is ideal for bird watching, painting, photography, reading and just relaxing. We have lots of books! Fast ADSL connection is available for your internet laptop. This area is a golfer's paradise: there are 7 golf courses in the vicinity and one 60-stall driving range. These golf courses all vary in challenge, but one thing is for certain, each course is spectacularly beautiful! From ones boasting scenic mountain backdrops to ones with lush playing greens on champion courses this golfing mecca has it all. Prices range from $6.50 on weekdays for a quick amateur nine-hole round at Hacker's Haven to $85 on weekends for a professional 18 hole round at the posh Swan-e-set or the rolling expanse of Pitt Meadows Golf Club and Golden Eagle Golf Club. For horse-lovers there are 6 stables and equestrian centres and more than 60 km of riding-trails which are kept up by the Horesmen's Association. If you get bored, Vancouver with all its excitement is only an hour's drive away. Or take the West Coast Express commuter train. The Pitt Polder Wetlands are famous for birdwatching and miles of dikes offer beautiful nature watching opportunities. The "Trans Canada Trail" runs through here. Boating, hiking, biking or climbing the Golden Ears Mountains is all available in the vicinity. It has several marinas, many boutiques and restaurants, live theatre, a weekly craft and farmers’ market as well as being close to wonderful hiking and bike trails and several golf courses. Sidney is quite flat (unusual in BC) and well suited to seniors. Our townhouse is only five minutes from the Victoria airport and the ferries to Vancouver, the Gulf Islands and Washington state. A short drive takes you to the world famous Butchart’s Gardens as well as the many tourist attractions available in Victoria (museums, art galleries, Fisherman’s Wharf, Chinatown, whale watching, tea at the Empress Hotel, etc. There are many interesting day trips to places like Chemainus (famous for its dozens of wall murals), the Gulf Islands (including famous artists’ colony on Salt Spring Island), Vancouver (1 ½ hour ferry through the Gulf Islands), and many other interesting destinations that we can recommend. Our Sidney home is a lovely two bedroom (plus office/guest room with Futon) three bathroom townhouse with private patio steps from the ocean, and two short blocks from the centre of town. Everything in Sidney is within easy walking distance. There is a master bedroom with an ensuite 5 piece bath on the main floor, and a very private second master bedroom with a 4 piece ensuite bath on the second floor. Access is “level” except for the second master bedroom.
